The Buckeye Trail Association is the leader in building, maintaining, protecting and promoting use of Ohio’s longest scenic hiking trail for our citizens, communities and partners. We provide outdoor recreation, opportunities to volunteer, education, access to the varied resources of Ohio and local economic benefits. The meeting is open to all BTA members and the public without charge.
All Buckeye TrailFest attendees are welcome and encouraged to attend!
The Buckeye Trail Association’s constitution requires that we hold “at least an annual meeting of the membership.” The annual meeting is a testament to how we've grown since 1959 when Emma "Grandma" Gatewood, a charter member of the BTA and one of the first trustees, along with numerous others, envisioned the growth of the Buckeye Trail Association. We have much information to share with everyone.
The 2017 annual business meeting is scheduled for Sunday at 9:00 a.m. Everyone is welcome to attend. A special feature of the meeting is the election of trustees to serve a three-year term. Five of the fifteen seats fall vacant every year and are filled at the annual meeting by vote of the general membership. Reports by the executive director, the treasurer, the Trail Preservation Fund and other committees provide a picture of where we are as an organization and what we hope to become. Questions and comments by members and friends in attendance are welcome.
Following the business meeting, the newly-constituted Board of Trustees will meet briefly to select its officers to serve until the 2018 annual meeting.
